Privacy policy

The short version: Swapsy collects no personal data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it makes no network connections.

This policy covers the Swapsy: Share as QR Code app for iPhone ("Swapsy", "the app") and this website. "We" and "us" means the team that makes Swapsy.

What the app handles

QR codes are made and read entirely on your iPhone. Contact details, links, places, Wi-Fi passwords, text and pictures you share with the app never leave your iPhone and are never sent to us or anyone else.

What the app stores

The history of codes you make, your own card (My Card) and your settings are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage. You can delete them at any time in the app, and they are removed when you delete the app. If you use iCloud Backup, your iPhone may include them in its backup, which Apple makes and holds under Apple's privacy policy.

Permissions

Swapsy only sees what you choose to share with it from the share sheet, or what you type or pick in the app. It does not read your contacts, photos or location in the background.

Camera: when you tap Scan with Camera, Swapsy asks to use the camera. The camera view is used only to read QR codes, on your iPhone, while the scanner is open. No photo or video is taken, saved or sent anywhere. You can turn camera access off at any time in Settings.

What we do not do

• No analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking.
• No advertising and no advertising identifier.
• No accounts and no sign-in.
• No selling or sharing of data, because we do not collect any.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. Like any web server, ours processes basic request information (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use it to identify you.

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete the conversation when it is no longer needed.

Children

Swapsy is a general audience utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.

Your choices

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Deleting Swapsy removes everything it stored on your iPhone. Under privacy laws such as the Australian Privacy Act, the GDPR and the CCPA you are still welcome to contact us with any question about your data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the effective date above. If a change ever meant collecting data, we would say so in the app before it happened.
